Halo 4 Spartan IV Warrior helmet on completed Suit by Hyperballistik Halo 4 Spartan IV Warrior helmet on completed Suit by Hyperballistik
My Finished Halo 4 Spartan IV Warrior helmet sitting on top of my friends Spartan IV Halo 4 suit, this pic was taken at Dragon Con. I did not make the suit, My Friend Daniel made it, the suit is made from Eva Foam, so the Suit credit goes to him, I did build the helmet to go with the suit, but here it is all together, i believe at this time that this is the only completed Halo 4 Multiplayer spartan IV suit that is compleated and is lifesize

The boots were not finished in this pic so we borrowed them from an Ironman suit and my friend was not wearing under armor as we almost ran out of time getting this ready for Dragon COn

Well the whole thing together looks pretty awesome together.  I'd always wanted to go to one of the "cons" dressed as a halo character (or better yet, my spartan from Halo 3) but money is pretty tight and all that.

Do you know what material he used to make those bumpy areas (the circular mesh)?

:iconhyperballistik:
Hyperballistik Featured By Owner Apr 13, 2014
The circle patterns you see on the suit were made with a Dremel tool sanding drum, you have to have the sanding drum stick out a little past the rubber part that locks it on to the the spindle, then run the Dremel at a medium speed and press it into the foam, it takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it, it goes quickly ;)

So you use normal EVA foam, not camping mat or whatever other people use?

Hey dude, I got a question about your cosplay, since I'm trying to do my own.

For the black under-suit, would you say that a Batman costume would work for that?  I found one at my local Walmart, and it's 30 bucks, and it's a whole suit.  With the gloves and mask separate, since I wouldn't use the mask, and the gloves would be altered for the spartan outfit.

I have, also, gotten a silver reflective halloween mask that I can use for the visor.  Do you have any tips for a newbie?  :'3

I see no reason why you couldn't use the Batman suit for a undersuit, but usually the Walmart costumes are kind of cheap and cheap made so it may not stand up to a lot of use and may sag a little, I would just take a good look at the Batman suit and see if it will work, for my under armor I use Soccer goalie pants I got off of Amazon for $14.00 and a Paintball long sleeve chest protector I also got off of Amazon for $25 both with free shipping. I paid more then $30 but they are made for sports so they will last a while and they have some padding in them to sort of replicate the under armor look

The Halloween Silver visors work well for the helmets just got to make sure it will fit the opening of the helmet, I have found that they are sometimes short on the sides when trying to put them in helmets that require a larger visor like the Halo 3 Master Chief helmet you can also find motorcycle helmet visors that will fit for sure on Amazon or Ebay starting for $8.00 just have to search around for them

My advice if you haven't built armor yet is to practice a few times with the method your going to build the armor out of, decide if its going to be a foam build or Pepakura, I prefer foam for the armor, its easy to move in and doesn't require body work but it does take a little practice to get the hang of it, Pepakura armor takes a while to make, you have to deal with fiberglass resin, Bondo etc. plus its heavy and does not flex well, the upside is you can make it look more detailed but to be honest all my suits are made of foam and im able to make them look really detailed using different thicknesses of foamie sheets for the raised details

Good luck

Yes its available on the 405th but the 405th is down for updates, once they are back up you may want to check out the Halo 4 armor database for the file

There is a thread for the suit build somewhere on the 405th web site under Halo 4 Spartan IV suit build, I didn't build the armor I just made the helmet but I believe the builder did give a tutorial on how to make the bumps on the thread
here is a link to the site www.405th.com

So instead of pepakura, you use foam? do you trace the main piece of the armor from the files on 405th, and just cut them out, and then you just hot glue them?

:iconhyperballistik:
Hyperballistik Featured By Owner Nov 16, 2012
That is pretty much how its done, except you want to modify the files some so you don't end up with small pieces, If you want to try it, start out with something small, you just have to know where to lower parts or raise them, also details can be added using the 2mm or 1/4" craft foam

I think after a while everybody will start getting used to the new helmet shapes, If I remember correctly when Reach came out alot of people were not to crazy about the armor and helmets but eventually most people accepeted it in time, I think the Halo 4 armor and alot of the helmets follow no direction, you have a Diving style helmet, Box shaped helmets, classic style helmets, etc. so it will take some getting used to especially if your a diehard Halo fan :)
