Finally got a Silver visor installed in this helmet, it was custom painted the same way they paint boat windshieds, its a little transparent but when you wear the helmet its no problem seeing out, view is nice and clear

sorry to bother you, but could you explain a little more about your tinting process?

I use the RIT dye method, for tinting visors, best way to understand the process is to look on Youtube and search for Dyeing motorcycle visors, it will explain how its done

For the pilot helmet we vacuform them ourselves and tint them also, we do this for the ODST visors also, everything else we just use motorcycle helmet visors

On the Pilot helmets that silver was some kind of crazy cocktail of paint done up by my friends father, he used a method where they used to paint transparent boat windshields, im not sure how exactly it was done, me personally just use thin coats of spaz stick Mirror chrome, shot through an airbrush, gives it the mirrored look and you can see through it

I thought about it, actually someone has already taken a cast of this same helmet and made the Haunted helmet and it looked really good, one day if I have time I may attempt it

Damn, wow. I wish I had the means to do awesome Halo armor like you guys. For now I'm stuck making simple swords =p

You should try to make the armor, alot of people are making the suits out of foam and its actually pretty easy to do, the helmet is more of a challange but if you can fold and glue paper your halfway to building a helmet
